Get Ready for an Alpaca ADventure in the beautiful seaside village of Downings, Co. Donegal.

Come and enjoy the views of Downings with your very own alpaca walking friend. Suitable for adults and children over the age of 8 years. 

Your alpaca experience will begin with a short safety briefing where we’ll go through all the important stuff to ensure that your experience is as safe and as enjoyable as possible. You’ll then be given some treats to feed your alpaca and once you're comfortable with your alpaca we'll set off on the trail with lots of opportunity for photos along the way.

After the walk we then return to the main farm where your alpaca experience continues. You will get to hand feed the girls and you may also be lucky enough to see an alpaca baby born between the month of July and August. You'll also get to see some products which we make from their beautiful fleeces.

Costings and Information

You can either choose to walk your own alpaca or share an alpaca between two people. 

Group Numbers - Our aim is to provide an immersive, fun and relaxing experience in smaller groups, so we limit the number of Alpacas on each walk to 5 therefore we have a max of 10 people per experience. Our alpacas are much more comfortable in smaller groups to. 

1 Person leading 1 Alpaca - €25.00

Walk your very own alpaca for the entirety of the walk. 

2 People - Alpaca Share Experience - €35.00

Share an alpaca between two people for the walk or for parents who are with a child. Children aged 12+ can lead an alpaca on their own but must have an accompanied adult. Children between the age of 8yrs-11yrs can tandem walk an alpaca with a second lead road.

Single Bookings - Alpacas are herd animals and must walk in pairs or more, if you are walking on your own please do feel free to book onto a session that has slots already booked so that you can walk with a group, alpacas cannot be walked individually.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

Unfortunately under 8's cannot join the walking experience however we have a special meet and greet option available for them. Find out more here.

• All under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
• Children aged 12+ and over will be able to walk an alpaca on their own.
• Children aged 8 - 11 will walk alongside an adult in tandem with a second lead rope on their alpaca. Your child may be allowed to take the main lead at the discretion of the group leader when we're in a safe and calm situation to do so. However you must stay near the child if they are leading and be ready to take over if needed.

For younger children we have a farm meet and greet option. 

Location

We do not walk the alpacas at our farm, you will be sent directions to the walking trail by email with your booking information. It's a few minutes drive from our main farm.

Other Information

The walking experience takes roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour and includes a 10 minute health and safety briefing beforehand. If you miss the health and safety briefing unfortunately you will not be allowed to go on the walk. Please allow 1.5hrs for your whole experience if you would like to go back to the farm afterwards.

Private bookings with a minimum of 2 alpacas can be made for midweek at times to suit. Please contact us by email to check availability. Prices start at 75euro for private bookings.

We will not be able to walk the alpacas in really bad weather such as heavy rain, strong gale winds and high temperatures. See our Weather Policy section for further details.

Please remember that this is farm land and the ground can be wet and uneven, please wear sensible footwear and clothing.

Due to the current coronavirus situation there are NO TOILET FACILITIES. We have hand-wash stations plus hand sanitiser available at multiple points.
