- Alpaca Walk & Farm Experience
Come and enjoy the views of Downings with your very own alpaca walking friend. The nature of the Alpaca is gentle and curious, making walking with Alpacas enjoyable and entertaining with their quirky individual characters. The walking route we take has pano views of the surrounding area of Melmore, Horn Head and Muckish Mountain. You’ll be given some treats to feed your alpaca with lots of opportunity for photos along the way.
After the walk we then return to the main farm where your alpaca experience continues. You will get to hand feed the girls and you may also be lucky enough to see an alpaca baby born between the month of July and August. You'll end your experience with a visit to the Alpaca Fibre Parlour where you can see the many products we make with this luxurious fibre.
Time and Location
We walk on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning at 11am, however in Summer we will offer late evening walks for sunset. The sunsets to the west are really quite spectacular and having alpacas there makes it such a memorial experience. If you're interested in a late sunset walk please contact us for further infomration.
We do not walk the alpacas at our farm. You will be sent directions to the walking trail by email with your booking information. It's a few minutes drive from our main farm.
PLEASE NOTE: Saturdays are our busiest day and get booked up very fast.
